| A | DOWNLOADING IMAGES VIA THE WEB is the easiest and quickest way to find and download individual quadrangles. | |
| A1 | Locate the countyor counties your study area is in, and choose North or South Zone by clicking on the map or text. |  |
| A2 | Click on one of the 100K quadrangles to zoom in further |  |
| A3 | Click on the quad you wish to download |  |
| A4 | Your browser will probably prompt you either to open or save the
file. Choose "SAVE". You may also wish to choose a directory were to store the
file. NOTE: The image files are in zipped in GZIP format. Check the Viewing Instructions on how to un-zip the files. |

| B | WORLDFILES are used by some GIS software to georeference the images. The image files are in geo-tiff format and GIS software such as ArcView or ArcInfo is capable of reading and properly geo-referncing the images. However, if you need the worldfiles for georeferncing, they can be downloaded. | |
| B1 | Write down the index number(s) located in the upper left corner of each quad for the quads you need. | |
| B2 | Click on "WORLDFILES" on any of the corners of your map window. This takes you to the directory where all worldfiles for each zone are located. |  |
| B3 | Click on the filename you wish to download. You may have to set your browser settings if the file is opened instead of downloading. Refer to your browser's help system for further instructions. | |
| C | DOWNLOADING VIA FTP may save you some time, if you wish to download many image files at once. | |
| C1 | Use the Web interface to determine what State Plane Zone your study are is in and write down the index number(s) for the quadrangles you wish to download. | |
| C3 | Use either your Windows or UNIX based FTP tools with following
parameters: IP address: 162.114.197.61 |

| C3 | Change directory to /drg/north or /drg/south and download the files. | |
| C4 | If you need the worldfiles, they are located under /drg/north/worldfiles for North Zone, and under /drg/south/worldfiles for South Zone | |
